Our Pottery Events provide the perfect framework for a fantastic - and novel - bridal shower and the warm atmosphere of our studio offers the perfect energetic feel for establishing new relationships and deepening old ones.

Your friends and family will participate in learning a new and thoroughly enjoyable activity ... an activity that some of your party will have already had an interest in trying out! Moreover, a couple weeks after the event, your guests will be able to take home some lovely artwork reminders that they created during your event. Your shower at Chromatic Earth Pottery is bound to be that great day before your big day.


To a significant extent, the type of event you book with us will depend on the type of clay that best fits your needs: our regular, Hi-fire White clay or Air-dry clay.  Because of the different demands on our staff, the two types of clay represent very different price-points for you:

Hi-fire White clay requires quite a bit of work from our studio's staff after the event because of the number of steps involved in the pottery process: "throwing" on the wheel, trimming (prettying up the pieces after they have dried for a few days), firing (after the pieces have dried for another week or so), glazing and then firing again. Your group will spend all of its time throwing and our staff will complete all of the other steps on their own, after your event.

Air-dry clay is designed mainly to give your group the experience of "throwing" on the pottery wheel. It requires no extra work from our team because pieces made with this clay are not conducive to trimming and can not be fired in the kiln. At the end of the event your group will take their pieces with them when they leave (and, if they like, can paint them on their own with any type of acrylic paint). Unlike Hi-fire White Clay, air-dry clay is not food-safe.

All of the following options include 15 minutes of clean up before the end of the event and longer time-periods can be negotiated. Groups of greater than 13 active participants must book at least 3 hours because they will need to split into two teams: one team will "throw" on the wheels while the other enjoys food/drink, socializing and/or hand-building (switching half-way through the instructional portion of the event). Hi-Fire White Clay Option 1: Full Shower Event
Your group will spend three hours in our studio learning how to "throw" on the pottery wheel. Hand-building and other activities may also be offered, depending on the group. After the event we will trim, fire (in our kiln), glaze and fire again each participant's 2 favourite pieces that they created during the event and, after a few weeks, the artwork will be ready for pick up. These events are $200 per person.

Hi-Fire White Clay Option 2: Light Shower Event:
Same as Option 1 except your group will spend two-and-one-half hours in our studio and after the event we will trim, fire (in our kiln), glaze and fire again each participant's favourite (single) piece. These events are $200 for the first person and then $130 per person after that.

"Air-dry" Clay Events with 13 active participants or less:
For a 2-1/2 hour event: $150 (booking fee) and $65 per participant;
For a 3 hour event (with built-in time for food/beverages/socializing): $175 (booking fee) and $65 per participant.

"Air-dry" Clay Events with more than 13 active participants (but less than 26):
Three hours, without hand-building: $200 (booking fee) and $65 per participant.
Four hours, without hand-building: $250 (booking fee) and $75 per participant.
Three hours, with hand-building (requires the hiring of another instructor): $320 (booking fee) and $75 per participant.
Four hours, with hand-building: $410 (booking fee) and $85 per participant.


For larger groups, the entire studio will be dedicated to you and your guests and we have plenty of comfy room for socializing as well as a full kitchen and many serving tables for any food/refreshments your group would like to bring. We also have access to a Persian caterer should you be interested in providing a novel meal or finger foods to your friends and family.
